The Harvest Glove has a similar effect to the Speed Gloves in Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland.

In Atelier Meruru, the gloves are a piece of development equipment, and can be equipped by Meruru. Because equipment carries over to subsequent play throughs, keeping the gloves equipped and starting a new game with "new game plus" will allow the player to have them equipped automatically from the game's beginning.

It allows Meruru to gather items faster, which uses less time on the clock.
