Plot
At the atelier, Marion Quinn tells Escha Malier about the Lindemann Sweets Festival named after Lindemann. She explains how this is an old tradition of this world and a special day meant to give gifts such as chocolates to those they hold dear. Marion intends to gift some to Linca as she's always helping her. As Escha wonders to whom she could offer a gift, Logix Ficsario interrupts them when hearing their conversation, he tells them that around the time the Kingdom of Lantarna was founded and the Apexi were roaming around the northern mountains, Lindemann was a sage who prayed for the safe return of the knights and gave them chocolates. A lot of them ended up surviving and they owed their thanks to Lindemann, which is how it came to be a holiday.
In the capital, Roman Kalman and Juna Waitz are talking with Roman's brother, Orpheus. The latter teases him about getting someone and asks Juna to look after his brother. However, Roman is more interested in alchemy and thinks that the festival is a good way to promote it by synthesizing chocolates. While Roman is lost in his thoughts, Juna thinks to herself that he's overworking himself and though she worries she may be too harsh on him, she admires his determination to accomplish his dream wonders about offering him chocolates. At the same time, at the Star's Cocoon Cafe, Reisalin Stout, who's in charge of executing Roman's project, asks Escha to help her create a new menu of sweets after hearing from Shallistera Argo that she was a great baker, since Iksel Jahnn's and Rorolina Frixell's forte. Escha agrees, then Ryza pushes her to go change clothes as a way to advertise the cafe. Logy offers his help and Escha accepts it under the condition that he musn't help for the preparation of the chocolates.
They go back to the Atelier and test out chocolate recipes using different beans. During the process, Logy is a bit worried about Escha's carelessness which almost led her to cut her hand, so he offers her a carving knife. Escha tries to ask Logy his favorite kind of sweets to have a clearer idea of what to make for him but he doesn't answer to avoid her synthesizing the sweets based on his preferences. Meanwhile at the market, Shallotte Elminus begs Wilbell Voll-Ersleid to teach her how to make sweets. Wilbell makes sweets rain as a joke but promises her to help, however, as she's more used to make them with magic, she goes to Escha for help. Escha gives her a recipe of chocolate cupcakes, after which Wilbell leaves immediately to rejoin Shallotte. Coincidentally, Juna visits the Atelier and also asks Escha to make her her student as she doesn't know how to make sweets.
