Taking the First Step: 2 is a Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout quest.
Empel, a traveling alchemist, uncovers Ryza's hidden talent for alchemy. He tasks her with gathering Nameless Grass to use in a synthesis. She learns that this can be gathered in Pixie Forest, to the west of Kurken Port. Excited, the adventurers head to the forest.
The adventurers arrive in Pixie Forest, gather all the Nameless Grass they need, and hurry back to Empel's residence. Empel watches on as Ryza makes her first synthesis attempt and to her happy surprise, it's successful. Satisfied with the results, Empel gives Ryza an alchemy book and tells her to start studying. Ryza rushes home to start working on more recipes. Ryza builds an atelier on her own to keep practicing her synthesis. Following Empel's instructions, she attempts to create every item in the book.
