In Atelier Annie, alchemy tools are use to synthesis items, with some being more proficient in synthesizing certain type of items earlier than others. However, as the player gains higher alchemy experience, all the tools will ultimately have the same efficiently, meaning that the player can stick to one tool throughout the game without having to buy/use the remaining tools.
There are five total tools in the game. The player is given the cauldron at the start, while the remaining tools can be bought from Jacob during certain time. Tools and its upgrades aren't carried over to the next playthrough.
